Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
New Grad Resume Hub ("we", "our", "the site") provides resume templates, examples, and AI-assisted analysis tools for new grad software engineers. This policy explains what data we handle, how, and why.
1. Resume Files and Text You Analyze
- PDF uploads are processed in your browser. When you upload a PDF to the ATS Resume Checker, text extraction happens locally on your device using pdf.js. The file itself is never uploaded to our servers.
- Extracted text is sent to our API (
/api/analyze) solely to produce your analysis. The text is forwarded to our LLM provider (Kimi) to generate results and is not stored on our servers after the response is returned. - Do not include sensitive personal data (government IDs, financial account numbers) in resumes you analyze.
2. Account Data (Google Sign-In)
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this only to:
- Associate your usage quota (free checks/downloads) with your account
- Display your signed-in state in the navigation bar
Your basic account fields are stored in your browser's localStorage. We do not sell or share your account data with advertisers.
3. Usage Counters and localStorage
We store usage counters (e.g., monthly ATS checks, template downloads), trial pass state, and your cookie-consent choice in your browser's localStorage. Clearing your browser storage resets these counters. Anonymous usage is tracked the same way, without an account.
4. Analytics and Cookies
- We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage (pages visited, approximate geography, device type).
- GA4 is disabled by default and only loads after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can decline and use every tool on the site.
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Third-Party Services
- Google — Sign-In (authentication) and Analytics (usage statistics, consent-gated)
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and serverless functions
- Kimi — LLM processing of resume text you submit for analysis
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We store minimal user data (email, login provider, subscription status) in our database when you sign in or complete a payment. This is required to provide paid features and support. Resume content is processed transiently and not stored with your account. Usage for logged-in users may be recorded for quota enforcement. Analytics data is retained by Google per its standard retention settings.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since nearly all state is stored locally in your browser, you can exercise most of these rights by clearing your browser storage. For anything else, contact us at the address below.
8. Children
The site is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, please contact us at privacy@newgradresume.online and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above.
